A concept and illustration created for the game Antariksha Sanchar, built around a wind theme. The Automaton takes the form of a robotic Garuda with accordion-shaped wings, giving it a distinctly mechanical yet musical quality.
The design features two revolving bodies — when inactive, the Garuda side is visible, with a Nagaswaram built directly into its form. Once the player solves the puzzle, the body rotates to reveal the active side, which plays a flute instead. The same mechanic applies to its monkey minions — dormant on one side, and on the active side they play the Shankh, the traditional conch shell instrument.
The result is an Automaton that is essentially two characters in one — the transformation happening not through a visual effect, but through a physical rotation of the machine itself.
The work covers the full process — sketches, design iterations, and the final illustration.
